The "Miura Award" was established in 1956 (Showa 31), and while commemorating the outstanding achievements of the late Mitsuo Miura (1902-1956), who was a famous cinematographer, he was devoted to training newcomers. This award is designed to recognize new cinematographers of theater films who have inherited their passion and demonstrated excellent cinematographers every year.
The "JSC Award", established in 1992, is a cinematographer who has achieved rich sensibilities and technical achievements in cultures other than theatrical films, short films, recordings, television, documentaries, PR, large-scale images, etc. Winners are selected and commended based on their social contribution and achievements.
